November 2025
A feature article was published about the tournament in Luxembourg, organized by EFG Private Banking, where Despina Katsaiti claimed first place and the trophy 🏆
The event brought together young participants from Luxembourg, Portugal, and Greece.
October 2025
The European Men’s Club Trophy is an annual stroke play event held at the end of October, featuring national champion clubs from each EGA member country. As one of the EGA’s oldest championships, established in 1975, it involves around 24 teams of three players competing over three days, with the two best scores from each team counting towards the total each day. The event attracts top European amateurs, with RCF La Boulie (FRA) holding the most wins at seven.
Greece was represented by Messinia Golf Club.

🏆 The Greek Men’s National Golf Team has been crowned European Champion at the European Championship “Team Shield”, held at the Pravets Golf Club in Bulgaria.
🇬🇷 The team featured Panagiotis Pantazopoulos, Konstantinos Parthenis, Emilios Tsiridis, and Panagiotis Menegos, led by the President of the Federation, Mr. Thomas Tokas.

Hellenic National Championship 2025
🏆 We are proud and honored to announce that the winner of the Women’s National Championship is Asperaki Joy, with Despina Katsaiti as the runner-up!
We are especially proud that both athletes began their golf journey at a young age through our Golf Juniors Academy of Crete and continue to train daily at our Aegean Academy Training Center in Crete.
👏 Joy is currently a second-year student-athlete at Lincoln Memorial University, competing with great success on the university’s women’s golf team.
👏 Despina is also having a remarkable season, with multiple victories already under her belt this year.
We extend our warmest congratulations and best wishes to both players for continued success in their academic, athletic, and personal endeavors!

A Stellar 2025 Season Continues!
The 17-year golfer shines with standout performances and growing accolades.
2025 is shaping up to be a breakthrough year for 17-year-old Despina who continues to capture attention with her remarkable talent and a string of impressive achievements. From early-season wins to high-level recognition, Katsaiti is quickly becoming a name to watch on the top women’s national level.
Her latest achievement was the victory at the Hellenic Match play organized by HGF, at the golf course of Crete.
As her jorney continues we wish to Despina steady performance, resilience and many more victories ahead!
A special congratulations goes to her parents whose unwavering support has played a vital role in her rise!

Balkan Seniors Open

We would like to inform you that 24 rooms have been reserved for the Balkan Seniors Open 50+ (maximum handicap: 24 for men & 28 for women), which will take place at Costa Navarino on June 19, 20 & 21, 2025, across the Hills, Dunes, and Olympic courses.
Participating countries include Bulgaria, Romania, Turkey, and Greece, but the tournament is open to all nationalities.

A very encouraging performance from the Greek team at the Nicos Severis Cyprus Junior Open at Secret Valley GC in Cyprus.
The Greek team showcased great skills and determination, securing the 🏆 1st place in the Nations Cup.
Achieving distinctions:
🥇Dimitris Chalambalakis (1st place Boys Net U18)
🥇Despina Katsaiti (1st place Girls net U18)
🥇Nikolas Valasakis (1st place Boys net U16).
The best place in Overall was taken by:
🏅 Emilios Tsiridis in the boys with a score of 78-71-74 (7th place)
🏅Despina Katsaiti in the girls with a score of 82-76-77 (3rd place).

Hellenic National U18 golf team is set to compete in the Nicos Severis Junior Open 2025 at Secret Valley GC in Cyprus! Representing the team are Marianna Halmoukou, Despina Katsaiti, Dimitris Halambalakis, and Emilios Tsiridis (from left to right).
We are especially proud that three out of the four players began their golf journey at a young age in our Golf Juniors Academy of Crete and continue to train daily at our Aegean Academy Training Center in Crete.

With total of 64 Players, 49 professionals and 25 amateurs, Dimitris ranked 48th with scores 88, 80 & 78!

The R&A today announced new participation figures that show an increase of more than three million adult golfers playing the sport.
According to new research undertaken for the governing body, there are now 42.7 million on-course golfers (9 and 18-hole) in R&A affiliated markets (outside the USA and Mexico).The research figures for 2023 indicate a growth of 3.1 million on-course golfers since 2022. The growth trend began before the onset of Covid-19 and is now accelerating faster than the 2020-2022 pandemic period when there was an average of 2.5 million new on-course golfers per annum. The sport continues to increase in popularity, now up 44% from 29.6 million on-course players in 2016.The new data is provided by national federations in The R&A’s affiliated markets in Asia, Africa, Canada, the Caribbean, Central and South America, Europe, the Middle East and Oceania.
Increase globally
The research also shows that 62.3 million adults (outside the USA and Mexico) consume the sport in some format, an increase of 1.1 million since 2022. It is just the second time an estimate has been made beyond on-course activity to include alternative-only formats, such as pitch & putt, indoor simulator golf and driving range use. Phil Anderton, Chief Development Officer at The R&A, said, “Golf’s popularity continues to grow with a significant increase in the number of people playing the sport both on and off the course.

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Joy who has embarked on her golfing journey at the Crete Golf Club & Aegean Junior Academy, signed at Lincoln Memorial University. We wish her great success in both her academic and her collegiate golf career.
It's important to highlight that, despite being a freshman, she has already represented her university's golf team in both of the inaugural tournaments (The City with Spirit Classic in Cleveland TN and to the Savannah Lakes International in McCormick SC)

Την 9η Θέση κατέκτησε η Εθνική μας ομάδα νικώντας την Λετονία
με σκορ 3-0 και ολοκλήρωσε της αγωνίστηκες της υποχρέωσης στο
Πανευρωπαϊκό Πρωτάθλημα.
Η θέση είναι αρκετά ικανοποιητική
αλλά η αποκομιδή νέων εμπειριών ήταν ο πραγματικός θησαυρός!

EGA European Team Shield Ladies Championship
Καλή επιτυχία στην Εθνική ομάδα Γυναικών που από αύριο θα λάβει μέρος στο EGA European Team Shield Ladies Championsπhip στο Golf Club Gams-Werdenberg του Λιχτενστάιν.
Η ομάδα αποτελείται από τις αθλήτριες: Παρασκευή Βέργου, Μαρία Μαλφα, Δέσποινα Κατσαΐτη και Μαριάννα Χαλκουκου.
Θερμά συγχαρητήρια στην αθλήτρια του ομίλου μας, Δέσποινα Κατσαΐτη για την επάξια πρώτη της συμμετοχή με την Εθνική Ομάδα Γυναικών (αν και είναι μόλις 16 χρονών!)
Αξίζει να σημειωθεί ότι η Δέσποινα προπονείται στις εγκαταστάσεις των Κρητικών Γκόλφ σχεδόν μόνη της κάτω από αντίξοες συνθήκες, με την αποκλειστική οικονομική και ψυχολογική στήριξη των γονιών της και την ουσιαστική βοήθεια του προπονητή της Henrik Engdahl!
Και πάλι θερμές ευχές για ένα καλό και επιτυχημένο αγώνα!

Το Πανευρωπαϊκό
Πρωτάθλημα ολοκληρώθηκε στην Κρακοβία με την Εθνική ομάδα Ανδρών να καταλαμβάνει την 8η θέση!
Μια Εθνική ομάδα οι οποία
ολοκλήρωσε έναν κύκλο αρκετά πετυχημένο έχοντας κατάκτηση
αρκετές φορές το Team Shield και
σε συνέχεια με τη συμμετοχή της στην ανώτερη κατηγορία.
